Stonyhurst was not for the faint-hearted. John Mulholland explains how he survived

Ferulas and Thuribles is the latest book by John Mulholland. His frank, humorous and honest account of boarding school life under a strict Jesuit regime in the 1960s is a must read for anyone.

John Mulholland is an international energy consultant helping large organisations to reduce carbon emissions. After leaving Stonyhurst he studied chemical engineering at the University of Sheffield. John has co-authored five books, mostly on military history. He and his wife Shelley have four daughters and four grandchildren and live in Sheffield. Ferulas and Thuribles is a departure from his previous works in that it takes a semi-autobiographical look back at his school years in the 1960's.
